The present invention relates to a system for providing GPS track data based on a smartphone which allows a user to provide GPS track data registered by the user to another user using a smartphone application program (APP) and a method for providing GPS track data based on a smartphone. The system according to the present invention comprises: an operating server (10) for operating an APP providing the following functions of registering GPS track data including detailed information on a waypoint, searching for desired GPS track data, and downloading selected GPS track data; a database (15) for storing the registered GPS track data and detailed information on a waypoint; a registered person smartphone (20) on which an APP provided by the operating server (10) is installed, and which has a GPS function, and which transmits, to the operating server, GPS track data created by inputting waypoint information while moving and registers the transmitted GPS track data; and a user smartphone (30) on which an APP provided by the operating system (10) is installed, and which has a GPS function, and which searches for, downloads, and uses the registered GPS track data.
