The present invention relates to a system and a method for preventing a lost child using pattern recognition. More specifically, the system and the method are capable of: inputting, matching and storing an intrinsic identification pattern printed out in clothes and personal information on the intrinsic identification pattern using a communications terminal; and automatically transmitting information on a different communications terminal to a pre-inputted communications terminal, if the corresponding intrinsic identification pattern is inputted by the different communications terminal.
