Disclosed are an apparatus for compensating a motion of a video camera angle by using an acceleration sensor, a method thereof and a portable terminal including the apparatus. The apparatus includes an acceleration sensor part having a plurality of acceleration sensors to measure an acceleration of an angle of a video camera. A motion compensation part of the apparatus uses an acceleration value measured by the acceleration sensors of the acceleration sensor part to estimate a horizontal variation of the angle and a vertical variation of the angle of the video camera, the estimated horizontal and vertical variations of the angle are compensated by moving an image according to a variation of the horizontal and vertical angle in pixel units which is changed by changing the image in pixel units, and an area which is not filled by the movement of the image is complemented by an image of a region corresponding to a prior frame.
