METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR DIAGNOSIS OF ORAL LESION USING MEDICAL IMAGE

The present invention relates to a method and a system for diagnosing an oral lesion, in which a possibility of an oral lesion occurring is detected and diagnosed by comparing a current medical image of a person to be examined and a reference medical image, which is a prior medical image of the person to be examined, and/or a stored medical case image. More particularly, the present invention provides a method and a system for diagnosing an oral lesion by using a medical image, the system including: an image photographing unit to photograph a current medical image of an oral cavity of the person to be examined; a template extracting unit to search for a reference medical image, which is a prior medical image of the oral cavity of the person to be examined, when the reference medical image exists, to designate a region, in which a variation value between the current medical image and the prior medical image is greater than a threshold value, as a region of interest, and wherein when the reference medical image does not exist, a region having the highest possibility of the oral lesion in the current medical image is designated as the region of interest by an oral lesion diagnosis algorithm such that the region of interest is extracted as a candidate template; a template matching unit to match the candidate template with a case template corresponding to the oral lesion region of the stored case image to select the case template having a high likeness; and a diagnosis result display unit to display at least one of the current medical image, the reference medical image, the candidate template, the case image and the case template.
