摘要

The present invention relates to a composition containing, as an active ingredient, kirenol or an extract of Siegesbeckia orientalis L. including kirenol for preventing, alleviating, or treating obesity. Kirenol, the extract of Siegesbeckia orientalis including kirenol, or a fraction thereof, according to the present invention, reduces the expression of main transcription factors (PPARgamma, C/EBPalpha, and SREBP-1c), which are involved in the adipocyte differentiation in adipocytes, thereby having an excellent effect on obesity. Furthermore, the present invention can be safely used since it is a natural substance, and thus can be used for medicine or food.
