The present invention relates to a warning system to secure safe operation of trains in sharp curve and steep gradient sections of a low density traffic zone. The warning system comprises: axle detection units (111, 112) which are installed at a side of a railroad to detect the axle of a train ahead of a starting point of a sharp curve section or a steep gradient section in a low density traffic zone; a controller (200) for calculating the speed of the train from the signal detected by the axle detection units (111, 112), and outputting a control signal for warning by comparing the calculated speed with a predetermined limit speed; and a warming means for notifying a conductor of the train about the speed according to the control signal of the controller.
