Disclosed are precipitation-hardening light-weight steel having high strength, high ductility, and excellent lightweightness, and a manufacturing method thereof. The light-weight steel according to the present invention is composed of 10.0-15.0 wt% of manganese (Mn), 6.0-9.0 wt% of aluminum (Al), 3.0-5.0 wt% of chrome (Cr), 0.8-1.2 wt% of carbon (C), and the remainder consisting of iron (Fe) and inevitable impurities. The main phase is an austenite phase, and has a complex structure containing a ferritic phase as a second phase and nano -carbide ((Fe,Mn)_3AlC) particles.
