The present invention relates to a method for manufacturing a molding material for an end cover of horizontal centrifugal casting and a molding material manufactured thereby. According to the present invention, the method for manufacturing a molding material for an end cover of horizontal centrifugal casting includes: a first step of manufacturing a mixed material by mixing various raw materials measured by an electronic scale; a second step of putting a binder in the mixed material; and a third step of mixing the mixed material in which the binder is put in a mixer. In the first step, the mixed material includes: 160-200 parts by weight of Al_2O_3, 200-240 parts by weight of SiO_2, 1-1.16 parts by weight of TiO_2, 2.2-2.32 parts by weight of Fe_2O_3, 0.06-0.08 parts by weight of CaO, 0-0.004 parts by weight of K_2O, 0-0.004 parts by weight of Na_2O, 0-0.004 parts by weight of MgO, and 0-0.004 parts by weight of ZrO_2. The molding material for an end cover of horizontal centrifugal casting can have excellent heat-resistance, corrosion resistance, chemical resistance, and hardness to extend service life of an end cover.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
