A conventional tunable receiver performs a wavelength tuning process and a wavelength adjusting process of matching a center frequency of a tunable filter to a center frequency of a received signal through an internal algorithm of only an optical receiver. As a result, an expensive tunable receiver having a high-performance wavelength tuning function is needed to perform fine wavelength tuning. According to an embodiment of the present invention, a wavelength adjusting method includes determining whether a wavelength is needed to be tuned according to the configuration of a conventional ONU and an internal procedure thereof; determining the start and end of a wavelength adjusting process by an MAC unit of the ONU; and reporting a result of the determination to a tunable receiver so as to perform the wavelength adjusting process. Therefore, the tunable receiver does not require a high-performance wavelength tuning function. According to an embodiment of the present invention, even when a conventional cheap tunable receiver is used, minimum filter insertion loss in a received signal and the quality of signal may be guaranteed.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
