An embodiment of the present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for transmitting a lossless network image. More specifically, an embodiment of the present invention relates to the method and the apparatus for transmitting the lossless network image, which constantly provide a security environment by transmitting an image without any loss of the image according to a transmission environment in transmitting an image photographed in an analog security camera or the like through a network. An embodiment of the present invention provides the method and the apparatus for transmitting the lossless network image, the method comprising the steps of: receiving an image photographed from a camera in an image transmission device; compressing the photographed image to generate a encoded image; receiving the encoded image and selecting internal storage or network transmission with respect to the encoded image based on a network transmission environment verified by verifying a network transmission environment of a network; when the selected result is the network transmission, transmitting image information including the encoded image by using the network; and when the selected result is the internal storage, storing the image information.
