The present invention relates to an antioxidant or anti-inflammatory composition comprising a spirit extract of a leg shell of Chionoeoets japonicas as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, the spirit extract of a leg shell of Chionoeoets japonicas has no cytotoxicity and DPPH radical removing activity, inhibits formation of NO (nitric oxide) in immune cells, and contains high cartinoid content. Accordingly, the spirit extract of a leg shell of Chionoeoets japonicas can be used for manufacturing a pharmaceutical composition and a health functional food which are useful for antioxidation and anti-inflammation.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
