Disclosed are a wireless terminal for connecting to the internet through a web authentication-based wireless LAN and a method of the same for connecting to the internet through the web authentication-based wireless LAN. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the wireless terminal for connecting to the internet through a web authentication-based wireless LAN includes a connection part, a web authentication page reception part, an authentication information extraction part, and an authentication request part. The connection part connects to an access point installed in an area providing the web authentication-based wireless LAN. When a user of the wireless terminal attempts to connect to the internet through the wireless LAN, the web authentication page reception part connects to a web authentication server using the address information of the web authentication server received from the access point, then requests and receives a web authentication page from the web authentication server. The authentication information extraction part extracts authentication information from the web authentication page and then outputs the authentication information to the user of the wireless terminal, wherein the authentication information is set up for an internet connection through the wireless LAN. The authentication request part performs the following procedures: receiving authentication information for an internet connection through the wireless LAN from the user of the wireless terminal; transmitting the authentication information to the web authentication server; requesting authentication for an internet connection through the wireless LAN; receiving an authentication resu and outputting the authentication result to the user of the wireless terminal.
