The present invention relates to a method for obtaining an improved quality biological sample. It involves identification of the marker or protein in the altered biological sample due to changes in sample collection, handling and processing. They are also useful for correcting measured changes to disease biomarkers. They also allow samples or groups of samples to be rejected if it is determined that its collection method does not comply with a predetermined protocol if necessary.
