According to the present invention, a system to activate a catalyst of a gasoline engine comprises: a waste gate valve (WGA) (10) to detour exhaust gas heading to a turbo charger (20) to a bypass line connected to an exhaust system using negative pressure when static pressure is lacked by a constant number or less of an engine rpm and a flow rate of the exhaust gas generated in an engine idle. Therefore, the catalyst of the exhaust system quickly reaches to a catalyst light-off time (LOT) using all the high-temperature exhaust heat under low negative pressure in the beginning of an engine start, and a large stock of emission materials (EM) generated in the beginning of the engine start are effectively removed using the catalyst activated by quickly reaching to the LOT.
