The present invention relates to a method for producing a high purity manganese oxide to obtain the high purity manganese oxide from byproducts generated in a manganese steel alloy smelting furnace and a manganese steel alloy electric furnace containing manganese. The method for producing a high purity manganese oxide comprises: a reducing step (S10a) by using carbon ; a manganese leaching step (S20b); and a first impurity removing step (S30a). Byproduct generated in the manganese steel alloy electric furnace implement pretreatment processes of: a potassium (K) removing step (S10b); a manganese leaching step (S20b); and a first impurity removing step (S30b). And then, the method comprises the steps of: mixing liquids obtained in the step (S30a) and the step (S30b) passing through the pretreatment processes, and removing a second impurity (S40); a depositing step (S50); an oxidation step (S70); and a step (S90) of collecting manganese oxide (Mn_3O_4).;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
