The present invention relates to an apparatus and a method for simulating target acquisition training and relates to an apparatus and a method for simulating training in acquiring a virtual target on the ground, not a flight vehicle. An embodiment of the present invention comprises: a combat scenario database in which geographic information data by each combat mission and a position of a virtual target are stored; a geographic image generation unit which generates a geographic image from the geographic information data in the combat scenario database; a virtual target generation unit which generates a virtual target having the position of the virtual target in the combat scenario database; a target training image generation unit which inserts the position of the virtual target and the position of a virtual armed flight vehicle into the geographic image so as to be generated as a target training image; a helmet-mounted display unit which displays the generated target training image; a virtual armament selection unit in which a virtual armament to destroy the virtual target and a virtual launch condition are selected; and a virtual target hitting determination unit which determines the success of hitting the virtual target based on the selected virtual armament and virtual launch condition.
