The present invention relates to an apparatus for managing home energy information profile base smart plug and a method thereof. The apparatus for managing home energy information profile based on the smart plug enables a user to be able to change shape information of an energy load device promptly by transmitting the energy information profile to a home energy management server in case of a corresponding event, by sensing installing or detachment of the energy load device to or from the smart plug, without adding an additional device like an RFID tag. According to the present invention, the apparatus can make information as to the load device coincide with the home energy management server by enabling the smart plug to manage the shape information of the load device installed to or detached from the smart plug on the basis of the installing/detachment event. And the apparatus can manage energy information as to the load device accurately on the basis of the smart plug without adding the additional device like the RFID.
