The present invention relates to a grid-connected large capacity energy storage system having an uninterruptible power function and a control method thereof, more specifically to a grid-connected large capacity energy storage system having an uninterruptible power function and a control method thereof for enabling to increase power supply time in the case of blackout and increase lifespan of a battery due to set a consumption of a charging unit by a different depth of discharge according to blackout on/off status in a grid power. The grid-connected large capacity energy storage system having an uninterruptible power function includes: a charging system for charging supplied power from an external grid power comprising at least one battery pack connected to be able to conduct electrically between each other and supplying power to an internal grid power; a power conversion system for applying alternating current of the external grid power to direct current, conversing direct current outputted from the charging unit to alternating current, and supplying to the internal grid power; and a control panel for controlling the power conversion system by an energy storage mode which controls the power conversion system to charge the charging system or supplying to the internal grid power, and an uninterruptible power mode which supplies power from the charging system to the internal grid power in the case of blackout.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
