The present invention relates to a novel composition for improving scalp conditions and preventing hair loss and, more specifically, to a pharmaceutical composition, a health functional food, and a cosmetic composition for improving scalp conditions and preventing hair loss containing an extract of Tetrathelmis tetrathele, which is marine microalgae, as an active ingredient. According to the present invention, possibilities of utilizing an extract of Tetrathelmis tetrathele which is marine microalgae in preventing hair loss and improving scalp conditions have been provided. Moreover, the extract of marine microalgae Tetrathelmis tetrathele having hair loss preventing and scalp condition improving functions is used as major feed for shellfish such as oysters and sea cucumbers and mass-cultivated in research centers, schools, and companies, so raw ingredients can be easily obtained. Furthermore, the extract of marine microalgae Tetrathelmis tetrathele can be obtained at cheaper costs than a conventional natural material having effects in preventing hair loss and improving scalp conditions, thereby reducing costs.
