The present invention relates to a method for preparing a glass fiber and epoxy composite with enhanced thermal resistance by using SiO_2 nanoparticles, which includes the SiO_2 nanoparticles in an epoxy resin to increase thermal resistance, and thus enhances overall thermal resistance properties of composite materials through an improvement of base materials composed of a fiber and an epoxy which is called prepreg, thereby being highly utilized for exterior parts of heavy machinery which requires heat insulation, thermal resistance, and high strength. According to a desirable embodiment, the present invention comprises the following steps: (a) mixing 0.5-2 wt% of SiO_2 nanoparticles with respect to 100 wt% of an epoxy resin to form a mixed epoxy resin; (b) impregnating the mixed epoxy resin, mixed in step (a), into a glass fiber to form prepreg; and (c) layering the prepreg, prepared in step (b), fivefold or more and curing the same at a temperature of 180-220 deg. C for 1.5-2.5 hours to prepare a composite material having a thickness of 1 mm or greater.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2016
