METHOD FOR CODING DATA BY FAST CODING UNIT DECISION IN HIGH EFFICIENCY VIDEO CODING

The present invention relates to a coding method via a fast coding unit (CU) decision in a high efficiency video coding (HEVC), which previously estimates an initial CU size before coding tree unit (CTU) coding to determine whether coding of a current CU can be skipped via comparison with the current CU; checks conditions using coded block flag (CBF) and prediction unit (PU) mode estimation costs in a CU coding process to realize fast CU decision; and being capable of skipping estimation of an intra mode using CBF values obtained in an inter PU mode estimation process. The present invention may provide a fast CU decision method having fast coding time while having small image quality degradation.
