The present invention relates to a method for estimating the carrier phase of a phase shift keying signal received to a coherent receiver, which estimates the carrier phase of a phase shift keying signal by artificially restricting a keying index when the phase shift keying signal is generated in a transmitting end to adjust that a non-sample area is generated in a phasor diagram of the phase shift keying signal received to the coherent receiver in a receiving end and measuring the non-sample area in the phasor diagram. Accordingly, when a high-speed phase shift keying signal is generated by using a low-priced reflective semiconductor optical amplifier (RSOA) with a narrow modulation bandwidth in coherent FTTH based on the RSOA, the size of a modulation current applied to the RSOA may be properly restricted so a non-sample area is generated in a phasor diagram of the phase shift keying signal received to the coherent receiver regardless of modulation speed. Thus, the carrier phase of the high-speed phase shift keying signal may be estimated by measuring the non-sample area in the phasor diagram.
