Provided are a grid-connected photovoltaic system and a method of operating the same. The grid-connected photovoltaic system includes: a load connected to a three-phase inverter; a first sensor for sensing load current input to the load; a first compensating unit for extracting a harmonic component from the load current to output a first compensating current for compensating the harmonic component; and a second compensating unit for outputting a second compensating current of a reactive power component to compensate the reactive power component generated by the load.
