Optical flow estimation method and apparatus under varying illumination

Disclosed are an optical flow estimation method and an optical flow estimation apparatus based on lighting variation. The optical flow estimation method based on the lighting variation includes the steps of: (a) calculating a lighting variation value for each point of an image sequence based on a bias lighting field value; (b) calculating an optical flow for each point based on the bias lighting field value; and (c) determining the lighting field value to minimize the variation of the optical flow based on the lighting variation for each point and the optical flow.
