The present invention relates to a system for designing a digital compensation filter compensating flatness and group delay deviation of an analog filter and a method thereof. The present invention provides the system for designing the digital compensation filter using an output signal of the analog filter for a pilot signal without extracting filter characteristics of the analog filter and the method thereof. To this end, the present invention has characteristics of including the steps of: converting and applying the pilot signal (x(n)), having the same bandwidth as a transmission signal, to a center of passband of the compensation target analog filter; digitizing an output of the analog filter to convert the same into a base band signal (y(n)); and applying the base band signal to a digital compensation filter for compensating the flatness and the group delay deviation, and calculating a filter coefficient (h) of the digital compensation filter such that the pilot signal (x(n)) may be the same as an output signal (z(n)) of the digital compensation filter. By the above mentioned configuration, the present invention may improve signal quality within the bandwidth while maintaining an acute characteristic of the analog filter, thereby being applicable to a conventional communications system adopting various types where the analog filter is applied in different positions and at the same time enhancing signal quality for the overall communications system as well as manufacturing a simple and high quality communications because a design specification of the analog filter may be alleviated.
