The present invention relates to a 6LoWPAN gateway for supporting an Ethernet frame and a communication method thereof. The 6LoWPAN gateway for supporting the Ethernet frame according to the present invention includes an Ethernet MAC address extracting unit which extracts the destination MAC address 6 bytes of the Ethernet frame, an RF communication interface ID generating unit which generates an RF communication interface ID of 8 bytes, a 6LoWPAN frame generating unit which generates the frame for communication with a 6LoWPAN node, and an RF communication module which transmits the frame for RF communication with the generated 6LoWPAN node to the 6LoWPAN node. The present invention simplifies the configuration and management of a network.
