The present invention relates to a load bearing permanent retaining wall and a construction method thereof. The load bearing permanent retaining wall includes: a plurality of large piles (1a) buried the earth and sand (9a) of the in-situ ground in a vertical direction at regular intervals; a retaining earthflow plate (2) engaged with and fixated to a space between the exposed large piles (1a); an upper horizontal furring strip (4a) placed above a lower horizontal furring strip (4b) at a predetermined distance; a vertical and horizontal load bearing part (10) inserted into a space between the upper and lower horizontal furring strips (4a, 4b) to bear a load by supporting the upper horizontal furring strip (4a); a laterally moving support plate (20) wherein an anchor (6) fixated into the earth and sand (9a) of the in-situ ground is anchored and fixated to a fastening hole (22) of an anchor fastening head; and the anchor fastening head (30) assembled to be moved up and down along the fastening hole (22) of the anchor fastening head of the laterally moving support plate (20). Therefore, the load bearing permanent retaining wall reduces a concrete cover thickness, thereby reducing construction cost. In addition to this, the load bearing permanent retaining wall maintains the horizontality of the upper and lower horizontal furring strips (4a, 4b) without twisting them, thereby maintaining the tensile load.
