Apparatus and method for active and passive data-gathering using stochastic models in a control network

Disclosed are an apparatus and a method for gathering active and passive data using a probabilistic model in a control network. A cache stores data gathered from local devices and configures cached data items. An active-passive synchronizer performs a first gathering operation of transmitting a data request frame and gathering and storing data for local devices, and a second gathering operation of listening to a communication frame between the local devices and gathering and storing data for the local devices; and determines a first gathering operation schedule for each cached data item on the basis of an expected delay time estimated based on a probabilistic model for the second gathering operation process when waiting for the time of each data item updated by the second gathering operation. An active-passive medium access control transmits data, obtained from the received frame, to the active-passive synchronizer, and transmits a frame for gathering data about the local devices according to a request from the active-passive synchronizer.
