The present invention relates to a ceramic composite containing secondary phase particles which comprise an anti-ferromagnetic metallic oxide and are dispersed over a matrix; and a matrix made of manganite with a perovskite structure represented by the chemical formula. According to the present invention, the manganite-based ceramic composite contains the particles composed of Co_3O_4 in the matrix consisting of the manganite with the perovskite structure as a secondary phase, thereby having enhanced magnetic cooling properties and magnetic reluctance to be useful in various fields such as a memory device, a magnetic cooling system, and the like. Chemical formula is A_xB_(1-x)MnO_3, wherein 0 x 1 is satisfied; A is La, Ce, Pr or Nd; and B is Ca, Sr or Ba.
