The present invention relates to a portable snubber performance tester and method using a snubber connection pin as a support point installed in the field and coupled to a lug installed in a pipe and a structure regardless of kinds of snubbers and the length of snubber rods such that the performance of the various kinds of the snubbers can be tested in a state where the snubbers are installed in the field and, more specifically, to a portable snubber performance tester to test the performance of snubbers and a method to test the performance of snubbers in a state where the snubbers are installed in the field using the portable snubber performance tester. The portable snubber performance tester comprises: a detachable connection pin support part to support load applied to a snubber body; at least two or more length-variable extension parts having a structure to adjust the length of the performance tester in accordance to the length of various snubber rod parts while one side of at least one or more length-variable extension parts is coupled to the connection pin support part in parallel; a snubber compression part having one side coupled to the other side of the length-variable extension parts among which one or more length-variable extension parts are coupled to the connection pin support part in parallel; a compression cylinder coupled to the center of the snubber compression part to apply tensile and compressive load to the snubber body; an intermediate point reinforcement part coupled to the length-variable extension parts at a right angle to prevent buckling and distortion phenomenon occurred in the length-variable extension parts; sensors, such as a length displacement meter or a load cell, to measure the motion characteristics of snubbers to be tested; a sensor fixing part to couple the sensors to components; a compression system; and a performance data analysis device.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2015
