Partial oxidation of waste tire rubber powder particles originating from environmentally hazardous waste tires produces surface treated waste tire rubber powder particles and gas condensates which have significantly improved mechanical strength compared to conventional rubberized concrete Is used as a raw material for the production of rubberized concrete. The chemically active rubber surface becomes hydrophilic and interacts with the hydrophilic surface of the surrounding cement matrix to make it much stronger. The gas condensate produced simultaneously in the partial oxidation reactor is composed mainly of the active sulfur oxides (R-SO x -R) and acts as a good binder to further improve the bond strength between the partially oxidized waste tire rubber powder particles and the cement admixture . Mechanically improved rubberized concrete is more varied than conventional rubberized concrete.
