The method of producing gas (G), self-regulating depending on the needs, while the method is performed under submerged conditions, and it includes: - immersion in a liquid (L) capable of reacting with a solid substance (S) to obtain a gas (G ), a reservoir (3; 31) containing a charge (6; 61) of a solid (S); the load (6; 61) is located in the upper part of the internal volume of the tank (3; 31) above the buffer volume (v), which does not contain any load; the reservoir (3; 31) has in its lower part at least one opening (9; 91) suitable for the penetration of liquid (L) into the free buffer volume (v), and in its upper part at least one outlet (8 ; 81), suitable for gas outlet (G0, G); - penetration of liquid (L) into the free buffer volume (v) through at least one hole (9; 91) and an increase in the liquid level (L) in the internal volume of the tank ( 3; 31) with the release of the gas originally present (G0) in the tank (3; 31) through at least one outlet (8; 81); - the formation of gas (G) by the reaction of a solid (S) upon contact with liquid (L), the rise of gas (G) in the internal volume of the tank (3; 31) in the direction of at least one outlet (8; 81) and the release of gas (G) through at least one outlet (8; 81) ); the level of liquid (L) in the reservoir (3; 31) changes by itself as a function of the difference between the volumetric flow rate of the generated gas and the volumetric flow rate of the gas discharged through at least one outlet (8; 81). 2.
