FIELD: measurement equipment.;SUBSTANCE: actual temperature of the fixing device and input voltage are detected. The value of change of actual temperature for the given period of time is calculated. The detected input voltage is compared with the pre-set voltage. The calculated actual temperature change and the first reference temperature change are compared, if the input voltage is more, than given voltage. The malfunction of the temperature sensor is identified, if the value of change of actual temperature is less, than value of change of first reference temperature. The calculated actual temperature change and the second reference temperature change are compared, if the input voltage is less than or equal to the given voltage.
