FIELD: machine building.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to machine building, particularly, to sealing. The magnetic liquid seal contains a movable flange and casing with installed on them permanent magnets creating elements of the magnetic system, clearance between them is filled with the magnetic liquid. On the movable flange the non-magnetic element with channels is rigidly and tightly installed, it is located in the clearance with the magnetic liquid and can move in the magnetic liquid filling the clearance between the magnetic system elements, upon pressure drop increasing with possibility of the pressure release through the channels, and upon next pressure drop increasing and the non-magnetic element movement and leaving the clearance with the magnetic liquid with possibility of the pressure release through the channels and made clearance between the end part of the non-magnetic element and magnetic liquid with further return of the non-magnetic element to the initial position.;EFFECT: invention improves seal reliability.;1 dwg
