Disclosed is a method of achieving weight reduction of a forged rotary body while improving the productivity of the forged rotary body. Temporary center holes are set for each of two or more samples taken from a forging batch of multiple forged turning bodies made within a period of a die misalignment adjustment until a next die misalignment adjustment. Then, a virtual end shape of each of the samples is simulated on the assumption that a machining is performed on the basis of the temporary centering holes, and a rotational imbalance amount of the virtual final shape is calculated. Then, an average value of the rotational imbalance amounts is calculated for all samples in the same forging lot, and center hole positions that become the average value zero are set as machining positions for center holes for all the forged rotary bodies in a corresponding forging lot.
