For early detection of damage, the following is proposed: detecting a bearing temperature at the rolling bearing 12, detecting a nacelle temperature in a nacelle 10 housing the rolling bearing 2 of the wind turbine 2, and evaluating the bearing temperature together with the nacelle temperature to determine the state of the rolling bearing 12.
