The present invention relates to a varistor (30), comprising at least two poles (34); a block is not linear (80); a conductive plate (84) arranged on a main face (82) of the block and having a projecting part forming a of the poles (34); and a layer of electrical insulation applied to said main face (82) of the block, and in which the part forming a connection pole projects out of the coating of the electrical insulation and has a surface of the brazing extending to the - above the level of the coating of the electrical insulation, and the said projecting part forming a connection pole is connected to the rest of the plate, on at least half of its perimeter. The present invention also relates to a device and a cartridge comprising such a varistor. The present invention makes it possible to obtain a reliable in the event of disconnection for the devices for protection against overvoltages having to have a reduced size.
