The device (1) has a flat support equipped with an elongated element on a resistance temperature sensor or negative temperature coefficient (NTC) sensor, where the device is mounted in an air inlet conduit (2) of heating appliances. The elongated element is inclined with respect to a main axis of the conduit. The NTC sensor is directed, along the conduit, in direction of the exit of the conduit. The conduit has an opening for mounting a cap, where the device is mounted on the opening by a cap (6). The cap is provided with a slot (7) for passage of the element. An independent claim is also included for a method for detecting flow of air entering into heating appliances of environments.
