The invention relates in particular to the externalized and centralized management of breakdowns in a cluster including high-availability devices, enabling services to be migrated from one device to another when a failure is detected. Some of said devices form a group of high-availability devices, wherein services managed by one device of the group are transferred to at least one other device of the group when said device is considered to be faulty. Each device of the group is monitored in order to identify a failure. A portion of the device-monitoring and service migration management is implemented in a high-availability device belonging to the cluster, which is separate from the devices of said group of devices, and which is responsible for managing the high availability.
