It comprises the following steps: - establishment of a vector (dW) of instantaneous wind variations, on the basis of the determined instantaneous wind vector (Vv); - projection of the vector (dW) of instantaneous wind variations on the direction of the vector of an air or geographical speed of the aircraft; - determination of the presence of a failure according to the projection obtained.
