It describes a novel process for the preparation of a solid material crystallized li2so4.4al of formula (oh) 3, nh2o with n being between 0,01 and 10, comprising at least the following steps a) a stage of precipitation, in aqueous medium, of aluminum sulfate and sodium aluminate and of at least one source of lithium in order to obtain a suspension, (b) a step of filtration of the suspension obtained in step a) in order to obtain a paste, the said filtration step is followed by at least one step for washing the pulp obtained, c) a step of drying of the paste obtained at the end of step b), d) a step of shaping by extrusion of the paste dried to obtain the extrudates, and e), the drying of the extrudates obtained at a temperature between 20 and 200°C. for a duration comprised between 1 hour and 20 hours, in order to obtain said solid material crystallized in the form of extrudates. The present invention also relates to a method of extraction of lithium on the basis of saline solutions using the material thus obtained. The present invention relates to a solid material crystallized li2so4.4al of formula (oh) 3, nh2o with n being between 0,01 and 10 shaped. The present invention also relates to a device for implementing the method of extraction of lithium.
