The present invention relates to a recycling process in which asphalt mixture crusts are recovered during the deconstruction of pavements, said crusts of asphalt are crushed to obtain reusable asphalt aggregates. This method is particularly advantageous in that the asphalt aggregates are screened in at least two different particle size fractions, an upper fraction and a lower fraction, for upgrading them to new road surfaces or preventive maintenance of pavements. The upper fraction of the asphalt aggregates is reused as a support layer, after having deposited on said pavement a binder for creating a bonding layer, and said lower fraction of the asphalt aggregates is reused as a surface closure layer deposited on said support layer for a road surface offering optimum strength, impermeable barrier, attractive appearance and low rolling noise.
