Methods derived from a theoretical model of knowledge-generating systems

A method of constructing a processor-controlled system consists of populations of entities. An entity E is physical material conforming, while the entity exists, to a specification E. A population P is composed of entities P. The system embodies at least one population P containing, at a time while the system runs, a number of entities P, said number dependent on behaviour within the system before said time. Lists or histories descriptive of past behaviour of entities and the system are identified and read. This method may be applied in a message routing system where there is a population of input channels and a population of output channels.
