Inflatable device for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence, genito-uterine prolapse and urethro-vaginal fistula

A reusable inflatable device and associated system for the treatment of stress urinary incontinence, genito-uterine prolapse, and urethro-vaginal fistula is intended for internal use and has a shape wherein a toroidal part 2 is formed at a first end of a cylindrical part 3 (the axis of revolution of the toroidal part being substantially coaxial with the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical part). Together the toroidal and cylindrical parts define a central aperture 7 that extends along the said axes. The device is separated into two chambers (which may be fluidly isolated from each other): (i) an anterior chamber 4 which extends partially around the central aperture, and (ii) a posterior/lateral chamber 5 that extends around the remainder of the central aperture. The anterior chamber can be deflated without deflating the posterior/lateral chamber. This allows the anterior chamber to be selectively deflated to allow a user to urinate whilst the posterior/lateral chamber remains inflated. The device can be totally deflated in order for it to be removed after use. Fluid flow through the two chambers can be controlled by means of a first and second valve.
