A flame-retardant processing method, containing: a radiation processing step of irradiating a cellulosic fiber material with radiation; a phosphorus processing step of adding a radically polymerizable phosphorus-containing compound to the cellulosic fiber material; and an amine processing step of adding an amine compound to the cellulosic fiber material, and a flame-retarded cellulosic fiber material prepared by the method above.
