The window (1) has a cover plate fastened to a frame piece (3) of a leaf frame (2) by a fastening device (6). The fastening device exhibits a counter supporting element (9) cooperating with a supporting element for axially non-shiftable supporting of the cover plate at the frame piece. An anti-engaging element (10) cooperates with an engaging element for lifting-prevention of the cover plate from the frame piece. The engaging element is a locking pin that serves manually for adjustably supporting the engaging element. The supporting element is designed as a fork pocket. An independent claim is also included for a method for fastening a cover plate to a frame piece of a leaf frame of a residential roof window.
