The invention concerns a method for enabling a single operator on a vehicle assembly line to fix a power-assist brake system against a firewall by passing from the engine compartment to the passenger compartment, which consists in using a power-assist brake system equipped with an insulating adhesive joint (14). Said joint comprises two adhesive surfaces and each of the two adhesive surfaces includes a protective film provided with a tab (15, 16); each protective film having a distinctive colour. One of the two protective films comprises precuts (17) along orifices (10, 11) of the joint designed to facilitate the removal of the protective film when the power-assist brake system is being mounted against the firewall.
