The device has a tool (33) operably pressing against a zone of an element of a secondary path of a flight control actuator, and a lever arm (30) allowing the tool to press against the zone by tilting, so that the lever arm exerts one of traction and compression force on the secondary path. The lever arm is mounted pivotingly on a support (31) operably fastened on a structure that is mechanically independent of the secondary path. The tool comprises a set including two plates that are connected by two clamping screws (35a, 35b). An independent claim is also included for a method for testing a detector that operably detects loading of a secondary path of a flight control actuator.
