A system (500) includes at least one controllable light source (510) configured to provide a light; and a processor (520) configured to switch between an interaction mode (320) and an illumination mode (310) in response to a user input from a user. In the interaction mode (320), the processor (520) controls the light source to provide previews (410) of light with variable attributes for selection of one preview (420) a user. In the illumination mode (310) which may be entered upon user selection of a preview, the processor (520) controls the light source (510) to provide light (430) having attributes associated with the selected preview (420).
