The invention relates to a power storage method consisting of creating at least one cavity in a building, the casing of said at least one cavity being built into the load-bearing structure of the building, of storing power by feeding compressed gas at a pressure greater than the atmospheric pressure in the at least one first cavity, and of releasing said pressurized gas contained in the at least one first cavity, in order to produce power. The invention also relates to a building designed to implement the method. The building thereby has access to the power storage means thereof and can optionally be described as a self-powered building.
